UCLA or WCL

I've been admitted to both. I would specialize in international human rights? Where should I go?!

Personally, I would choose UCLA. But I guess it depends on what you decide on doing after your LLM, where region might come into play. Hope that helps....

Why ucla? Ideally I'd love to procure a position with the inter-american chr, the un, a gov or first nation stateside. I'm really torn between ucla and au. Ucla has the better name, fantastic faculty, and 2 great clinics I'm interested in. Au has more courses relevant to my field of study and greater.opportunity for externship placement during the year. since dc and ny are our intl law hubs...I'm thinking itd be wise to study there. I'm also a us jd licensed in the midwest. Knowing all this...still ucla? Why?

I am not too familiar with WCL but I would think UCLA is worth going to because of its prestige (in general) over AU. However, AU's program seem to match everything you are looking for in a postgraduate program so go for AU!

If you are thinking twice about going to UCLA then you have doubts about it (i.e. it may lead to regrets) - go with your gut and your first choice!

:)

Go with AU/WCL it is the better name-especially in Human Rights. You should also consider location. DC is a better option for jobs and internships than L.A.. I attended the Human Rights academy two years ago( in the summer) and loved it. I'm going to apply to AU spring 2010. Good luck!

Go for WCL!!

Probably the best program for human rights in the usa.

UCLA would be more fun though. However, DC is a great location too.

I think AU would be the 'right' choice considering the location as well as the associated human rights clinics and faculty of the school. Lot of international institutions and public and private sector opportunities are available in the DC and surroundings (including New York) and the district is the only few of cities which has low unemployment growth rate compare to others. Also consider, UCLA location may provide you some coastal and breezy location but unemployement rate is high compare to other neighbouring states. So consider this aspect too if your intent to look for employment because UCLA may give you some clinical advantage as per your research but it won't provide much help in geting a job. Goodluck.

Are you kidding me to ask such question, of course UCLA, not with a doubt.
It is just like choosing a dime to a dollar. Let alone, you spend maybe more money in DC. remembering there is no job market for llm right now, it is dead, so there is no need to go to DC to study.

WCL offers more scholarships and job opportunities than UCLA. Don't bother with CA..
