UCLA Fall 2016

I applied before the deadline and no email saying the application is complete... And no answer.
I emailed them but no answer.
Are some of you in the same situation?

Have you tried emailing or ringing Vic Telesino directly? I didn't hear for a long time until I emailed him. He got back with a decision within the day when I did! I'd send him an email.

I may but it is not easy to decide in which university I should go.
There is the usa ranking but also the reputation in the country I live in...
Not easy to choose between all the universities.
Which one are you going to?

Is there a UCLA alumni there that would be okay to give me his email. That would help a lot.
thanks

https://www.law.berkeley.edu/files/California_Bar_Examination_Requirements_for_Professional_LLM_Students.pdf

On the second page of the link it tells you which courses satisfy the 12 credit requirement. I know this doc is by Berkeley but it applies to eligibility in general.

I can tell you that in the LLM fair I went to, the girl from USC GOULD told me that if you are a lawyer in your home country, you don't need to follow special classes, you can apply to the bar (so it is not like for ny bar)
12 credits is only 4/5 classes. The public interest law requires you to take 5 classes to satisfy the specialisation. That means that your 24 credits are already eaten up! No other choices available unless you want to load up on classes which again is limited. (you're allowed a max of 14 credits a semester at UCLA) - so really you could only take an extra 2 credit class each semester.

I read on the papers that I received with my admission packet packet from USC, that if you are a qualified lawyer in your country you don't need those credits. I might be wrong though

Ps. Congrats!! Check out your PM

I'm going to UCLA. Since I've been admitted they've been extremely helpful. Whenever I have questions they respond within the day (with very detailed replies) and you have the opportunity to design your own specialisation :) which I didn't know until I enrolled. I'm really excited about UCLA. What are your other choices?

There is some overlap with the bar classes and the certificate classes for Gould. http://gould.usc.edu/assets/docs/llm/USC_LLM_Cert_BarChart_LT_v1.pdf

Hello, everyone!

I'm from Brazil and I'll join the 2016-2017 LLM Class. Yay!

Did anyone asked for housing? I've been really worried about the price of the rentals in UCLA area.

I'm counting the days to go to LA! Is someone already there?
Do you know if the university help with internships?
Will you abandon law to become a movie star in Hollywood?
Will anyone continue to SJD studies?

I've been thinking about creating a 2016-2017 LLM group on facebook, what do you thing?

There is already a Facebook group. The admin staff who work at UCLA set it up. They should have invited you if you have enrolled, if not just ask. The onsite housing in Weyburn house looks nice and is quite affordable if you're willing to get a studio. Otherwise, I'm looking at Sherman Oaks as a nearby more affordable area of the city, I've heard good things about it from people that live there.

Hi All,

I'm on the waiting list and would like to know how many of you here are also on the waiting list and have UCLA as their first preference. Would also like to know how many of the accepted ones are enrolling. Trying to get an estimate to better understand my chances of moving from the waiting list to the accepted list! Thank you.

Anyone from the waiting list heard anything yet??

I know someone who asked for an expedited decision (decisions are supposed to be released in June) and they were admitted.
