Hey Kimoa! I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of other programs, and I want to know my status for all schools prior to committing.
However, U.W. is a very special place for me (I'm an alumnus of the J.D. program), plus I love Seattle! I was admitted to study sustainable development law.

Hi Badkarma56 & Kimoa
I have admitted to llm in asian and comparative law too. I'm from Thailand. However, I am waiting to hearing from others as well, so I haven't made a decision yet.
According to Seattle, I heard almost everyone say that it is a great place and the law school is so beautiful.

Law@888 and Kimoa, its great to hear that you both could possibly choose U.W. and that we could all end up as classmates! When I was a J.D. student at U.W., the law school was housed in an older building named Condon Hall. That old building was quite historic (and still holds a special place in my heart), but it was somewhat dated!
However, about ten years ago, Bill Gates (his father is a U.W. law alumnus) made a sizable donation to U.W., and a totally new, state-of-the-art building (called Gates Hall) was constructed for the law school and law library. The law school and law library have been housed in Gates Hall since 2003. This new building is absolutely beautiful, with every amenity imaginable, and has high speed wi-fi internet access throughout.
Finally, Seattle is a fantastic place to live, one of the very best cities in the entire U.S. Besides the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, you can also take advantage of being near British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver, B.C. (another awesome city) is just a two-hour drive north from Seattle.

I think it might be a wonderful place. It is the place where the story of Grey's Anatomy and 4, 400 happened. lol

You're welcome, Kimoa. UW is a terrific school and Seattle is an awesome place to live (I still miss it).
Sadly, its beginning to look like I'll end up choosing the University of Virginia over UW. This hasn't been an easy decision for me, but I've pretty much decided my path.
Anyhow, good luck to you and Law@888. If you both decide to attend UW, I'm certain that you'll receive great educations and also have rewarding experiences...you probably won't want to leave Seattle once you graduate!

Badkarma56 & Kimoa, I would like to say that I'm so glad to meet you at this board. Both of you are so nice, even though we've never known each other before. But you make me feel like I have new good friends here. Thanks a lot!
To Badkarma56, Congratulations! U of Virginia is so great, and I really agree with your decision.
To Kimoa, I really want to go to Gates Hall, but I got a scholarship to study llm & sjd, and my sponsor want me to earn degree in energy law, so I am not allowed to go to UWLS. Now I get two offer from Aberdeen (llm in oil and gas) and Dundee (llm in energy law and policy), so i have to choose from one of them. So sad that i don't have a chance to go to UW and be a classmate of you.
Anyway, so glad to meet both of you at this board!
Good luck my friends :-)

Hi Everyone!
I just received an acceptance letter confirming that my application has been sent to the Dean for approval ---not to sure what that means .. maybe someone can confirm that for me:S; I've been told that I need to receive an additional letter from the actual graduate department who runs visa and financial checks. But anywho sounds like good news to me!!
BadKarma56 nice to know that Seatlle is a great city!! Hopefully i'll have a great time there (definitley won't have any problems finding a coffee shop!)!
Congrats to everyone and hope to see you all there!!!

Pj08, Congratulations my friend, you will love Seattle and the U.W.!
The LL.M. program at U.W. follows a complicated, two-step admissions process. The first step involves receiving an email from the Law School that declares that you've been accepted by the Law School. Next, you will receive a letter from the U.W. Graduate School confirming their "acceptance" of your application.
The second step is really a formality, what actually matters is that the Law School has accepted you. The Graduate School will simply follow the wishes of the Law School.
I received my admission email from the Law School in late February, but I didn't receive the Graduate School letter until this past Friday! The Graduate School processes applications for almost all U.W. graduate programs (not just the LL.M. program), so they are seriously over-burdened with work. I was told this several weeks ago when I called the Graduate School and asked about this procedure.
So relax, the email that you received from the Law School is official! Since you are a foreign student, just make sure that you submit any required information for your visa as soon as you can.
You will truly enjoy living in Seattle!

badkarma56, Thanks for the informative response!!! That was really nice :) (Are Canadians classified as internationls?)
Indeed the process is lengthy. I gave them a ring and doesn't look as though I'll be recieving that letter anytime soon as they have thousands of applicants!
Have you decided where you'll be venturing off too?
Cheers!

Hey PJ08,
Very good, you'll enjoy U.W. and Seattle. Where are you from in Canada? I'm familiar with Vancouver, B.C. (great city).
I'm heading to Virginia this fall. I love "U-Dub," but UVA just makes more sense for me.
Good luck!

Hey y'all!
I'm waiting on a decision from UW for tax right now, and saw your posts from last year...
How did it all shake out?
