Hello everyone!
I'm starting to get ready to apply to a few law schools later this year, but I have no idea how to start. If any brazilians on this board could point me in the right direction, that would be great and I would be forever thankful!
I need to know basic things like: does everyone use LSAC? Is it possible to go through the application process on my own or do I need help from a advisor or somebody like that? Where can I get my transcripts translated? And anything else you guys can tell me, I will love you for it!
You can PM me, if you want.
Thanks!
To the Brazilians on the board

I didn't even know that such thing as advisor for LLM aplications exist!!
Well, next year if NYU, CLS and SLS goes like Chicago, I'm damn sure I'll hire one.

Dear Spoon, digo Colher,
These guys, self denominated as LLM advisors, are more like "picaretas". Some law schools indeed say that you should NOT hire them. If they think you got their advice, your application could be in dangeruuuuhhhh.. que medo...

Agree 100% with FC. You don't need them. In fact, it is forbidden to use them. The universities want to know YOU, not your advisor. Consider that they use the same templates for personal statements and other documents for several applicants, and the admission offices are certainly aware of these documents. So, if they see it, I guess its not much to consider yourself rejected and blacklisted for life...

Some important considerations for you application:
1. Take some time to write your PS. A good PS makes the difference.
2. You have to chose carefully your recommender. Go for those who know you best (dont forget to pick up one from your law school and one who your work), but dont forget that their background is very important as well (i.e. if they are alumni from a top USA School, etc.)
3. Two or three alumni friends can easily replace the adviser.
4. Read very carefully all the school material, and try to answer all the questions asked on it.
Good luck!
