There are several LL.M programs at SLS (eg, IP, Corporate). Specify, pls! I have never been to Stanford but I am truly and utterly convinced that you should apply there and go there unless you are also admitted to Yale))).

specifcally, probably the SPILS program. But Im more interested in what Stanford is like as a campus actually. Id also appreciate any insights on SPILS and how recruiters recruit from Stanford?
The rankings dont mean a whole lot to me to be honest. Why would you attend Yale unless you want to be a US academic? seems a bit of a nonesense to look at rankings. LLM doesnt get you a job in the US anyway.

Hi hamish2000,
I would recommend you to take a look at the Blog "the stanford experience" by Bitsou in this website. There are a lot of information about the city, the campus, the programs, and the faculty. It's very helpful for those who are interested in applying to Stanford.

Thanks Varnieri, Ive already read it. I was hoping for another view and perhaps some insights into the amount of recruiting done out of Stanford. Whether anyone got a job on the east coast from a west coast school. The amount of support they received from faculty while researching?

Hey
I am a SPILS fellow at Stanford this year.
Short answers to your questions:
- Campus is like a gigantic country club, a bubble. Great to take a break from real speedy urban life. Check the website and Googleearth to get a feeling of it.
- There is one career advisor at the law school specifically in charge of helping advanced degree students (2LLM + SPILS = about 35 students) with locating jobs, east and west coast.
Best of luck.

thanks Black.
Can I ask what the scholarship situation is like with SPILS? Did you manage to get one and what sort of range are you talking about? are there any other viable options?

I did not get one, but I believe that several of my classmates got partial scholarships. This is a unspoken topic. No idea about range, tho' I heard someone got 5,000usd.
Also people managed to obtain other fundings like Fullbright.
Sorry not to be more helpful on this one.
