Should I take it?

Hey Guys. I'm a prospective 08 applicant for an LLM course in the US. I believe it is one of the finest places to pursue ones graduate study.I also know that the only downside is the lack of jobs for people post their LLM even if done from a good school. Let me make it clear that i dont intend to stay here permanently but only for a couple of years after my LLM. Here is the tricky part.
Yesterday I met a senior official from the British council. He is a friend of mine and guaranteed me a job in the UK with a top law firm for at least for a couple of years provided I do my LLM from a good university in the UK. What should i do? Should I do my LLM from the UK for the lure of an assured job or stick to my original plan of doing it from the US and worry about the job scene later? Any advice would be well received.(This is of course presuming I get admissions into good universities both in the US and the UK.)
Cheers

Tough one: but judging form the fact that you intend on going back to the UK after your LLM in the States anyway, I'd say do your LLM in the UK and get that top job. Of course a further consideration might be that once you return from the States with an LLM form a top university there, the top jobs will flow in. Lastly, as it has been siad so many times on this baord, how big a dream of yours is it to study in the States. If you've always wanted to study at Harvard or Yale since you were a kid, then it's a no-brainer, screw the job, you'll see it when you get back.

Hey thanks for the advice. And by the way no, I'm not from the UK, I'm from Bombay India. Does that change anything?
Lemme know. Cheers!

Hi!

I think it might not be a problem to get a good job anywhere in the world if you have graduated from a very famous law school in US as well as UK (e.g. Harvard or Oxford). Being in your position I would ask myself if the possibility to study (and stay for a couple of years) in US is worth more to me than the "certainty" to get a good job in the UK immediatly after having finished UK-LLM. In my opinion there are no objective criteria to assess that choice - it's all about your personal preferences.
