I graduated law school in 1998 with a JD/MBA.
Nothing special in terms of pedigree. NY School, Top 1/3rd of class. Third tier. No law review. All "A"s in the MBA.
I went to work in business instead of law because there were no jobs. Only the top 15% and better from my school places - and they place themselves.
I have been considering an LLM in Taxation. Florida would be my ideal. Secondly, the e-llm from NYU (part-time). I could keep my job here.
I only took one tax class (intro) and got a "B-", I think.
Would it be worth going? I am a URM (disability) if that counts at all...
I do like minimizing tax consequences. Its a puzzle to be solved. Of course, with the LLM, it would be for corporations. And, I am nervous about the economy as well.
Would I be competitive for a consulting, in-house, or firm poistion? Or should I not bother?
