Right from LLB to LLM?

Will schools consider you for an LLM if you are applying right out of your LLB?

I'm a Canadian who would rather do an LLM than article next year...but I dont want to apply if the programs are all geared towards people with a few years of practice experience.

Yes, most schools will consider you (aren't they more interested in your money ? But seriously, it actually depends on the kind of LLM program are you talking about....if you're referring to the LL.M program for foreign law graduates, then you shouldn't have any problem (unless the rules have changed).

You may want to consider checking the schools directly. Best of luck.

I'd have to agree with that BarDiva. I think the first hurdle of an LLM is not admission but rather how you will finance the tuition costs and living expenses. This is especially so in the U.S where tuition is, well, outrageous...

So long as you can pay and you're grades are better than others who are also applying (and also able to pay), no reason why you wont get in.

Out of curiosity, why are U.S universities allowed to charge so much?
