So, decisions are slowing coming to an end and since other members have started gathering up people who are certain (or almost certain) they will be joining a said school in the summer, it's about time Penn gets its own thread too!
Unless something extraordinary happens, I have accepted my award and will be joining any of you who decide to flee to Philly this summer! So far I think our group in this online community has been quite interactive and I foresee great times ahead! (starting with the wine event!) Perhaps a group on facebook is also in order but I am delegating that responsibility to any of you who want to make the next step! :)

I'm honored to join this group. We should set a date for the wine tasting event. I'm 95% certain I'll be heading to the city of brotherly love this fall. As far as creating a group in facebook I second the idea, but also delegate that task, because I have despot genes in me... (j/k)

Are the genes hereditary adnyllop? I shall warn you, I am an Intl Criminal lawyer and you coming from Chile rings many bells and makes my hands itchy :P (j/k of course!)
It is a great privilege to be given the chance to learn with so many great people if I assume the small group on this forum to be an indication of the entire class!

So, now that Harvard decisions are out as well (from what I see here as I had to withdraw my application), any more Penn LLM'ers on board?

Guys,
Have you decided on housing already?
I heard that living in a walking distance from Penn apt may not be the ideal choice and that city center is the best location... any idea??

No idea about housing. The dorms seem expensive, but it may end up cheaper than buying furniture and renting. I don't know Philly at all, so anyone who knows where to live (ie. safe and close to Penn), let us know!
It always depends on the budget but most people prefer Center City over University City. Have you read the offcampus guideline in the website for admitted students ? A useful tool...

I accepted Penn's offer today!
No idea where to live yet...I'd rather stick closer to campus as a general rule though...

Welcome on board! In Center City there are apartments that offer the service of free shuttle to UPenn...A nice freebie...

but what places in city center are you guys looking into?
I think I'll stay in city center. Philly is kinda more dangerous than nyc and the uni city is not the safest, I'm told.

I absolutely hate the whole housing endeavor! Center city is probably the best place to stay although I know I will be regretting saying that if I end up there on those cold winter mornings. Unless of course the Penn Shuttle is near enough. However, the rents in Center City seem to be significantly higher than those around university city. Is anyone considering sharing? I haven't done it in a while but tight budget and my lazyness to do the whole furniture buying business are starting to push me towards keeping that option open too.
On another note, I went a step further and created a facebook group for our class which can be found on this link http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1042230223#!/home.php?sk=group_189750751066125&ap=1 Facebook changed the original outlook of groups and for some reason they take a while to show up in the search option so for the time being those of you wishing to tag along feel free to join our small group and make it larger!

We keep on growing :)
Amer, I would suggest you drop Matt Parker a line and ask him? They are excellent in their communication and pretty straightforward when they can be. I am sure it will clear out things!
