hi, all.
received an acceptance letter to UPenn last Feb 8 but it didn't contain info about financial aid or study grants/fellowships.
would any1 know if they send a separate letter to fin aid recipients (apart from the offer of acceptance) or am i to assume that I didn't get any because it wasn't mentioned in their letter?
thanks a bunch for any info you can share on this :)

You may write an email to ask them about this. But their standard answer is they will notify you in March.

I wrote to Penn about financial aid. The response I obtain was that Penn notifies to admitted students who were selected to obtain financial aid during march.

Has somebody obtained financial aid from Upenn? When was received the notification about that?
Posted Mar 22, 2007 16:01
Yes, a standard answer from Upenn. they will notify the eligable students for financial aid in march.
Posted Mar 22, 2007 16:03
When did you receive the financial aid standard message? I am looking forward to hear about Penn's financial aid in order to decide if I go to Upenn.

I also e-mailed UPenn today and received the same answer: responses will be given in march. The problem is that we are in late march, and the deadline for accepting the offer is (in my case) April 1st, so I need to know whether I will receive any financial aid or not. This will be fundamental in order to make a decision regarding UPenn.....

Has anybody asked UPenn for an extension in the given term for accepting the offer??

I believe that notifications were already made. March is almost ending. I have to made my decision before April 1 and, therefore, I will write to Uppen to ask for a response.

I contacted UPenn about a week ago and got this reply:
"We anticipate that most scholarship recipients will be notified during
the month of March. If you require definitive notification prior to a
specific date, please inform us of that date and the surrounding
circumstances. We will respond as best we can."
Just tell them you need notification before April 1 and I am sure they will reply quickly. My experience with UPenn has been extremely positive and it's not going to be easy for me to reject their offer and going to either HLS or YLS.

It is march 25 now. when will they make the decision and notify the applicants? or their practice is only to advise those eligible ones? anyway may need to make the decision soon in view of the looming deadline.

I just read that an admitted student to Upenn had a partial waiver to tuition fees. He/she was notified las friday. I think we were not been selected as beneficiaries of financial aid at Upenn.

CMLI,
You are right. I emailed Penn requesting information about Financial Aid and the admissions to the Wharton Certificate Program. Five minutes ago the informed that I was selected for financial assistance but I that I have a place to attend Wharton. Hope this helps.

Congratulations. I emailed Upenn but I have not obtained any response (Positive or negative). I suppose I was not selected for financial aid.

Sorry for this but I just realized that I omitted a not
I was NOT selected for financial assistance and my impression is that all the offers have been released. Sorry again for any confusion.
