Online Tax LLMs (NYU v. BU)

wkprof

I'm a working professional. Have a great in-house job focusing on partnership tax and real estate. No intention of changing jobs. Employer offered to pay as long as I can maintain a B average. Assume I can get accepted at NYU and Boston University. These seem to be the two top programs that offer online tax LLMs. Questions (no online LLM bashing needed, I get that argument, no need to hash it out here, not important to me):

1. Does the prestige of NYU override all other considerations when deciding to do the NYU program over the BU program?

2. How competitive is the grading curve at NYU or BU? Trying to figure out how difficult it will be to maintain a B average. I'm more interested in becoming better educated to do my current job better than to get the highest grade possible so I can get a new/better job.

3. Any current or ex-students have opinions about the two different programs?

4. Trying to figure out if it really matters which one I attend. Opinions?

chicken so...

Having attended neither program, my best guess is that the cohorts at NYU will generally be more competitive and experienced than the ones at BU - there's the prestige issue, of course, but NYU also tends to be more selective.

One thing I would advise would be to check out the course delivery platforms and see which one suits you better. For online courses, I find that there's a wide variety of technologies, and a poorly-delivered program can really detract from the experience.
