Hello!
I am wondering if anyone admitted to a NYU LLM program has gotten any financial aid such as scholarships or grants. If so, you would you mind saying approx how much and what it was classified as -- such as whether it was for merit, or a specific scholarship you applied for?
I'm a domestic JD and I just got accepted to the LLM in Trade Regulation at NYU. From what I can gather, NYU doesn't give need based aid for LLM studies but they do give merit aid. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how I can borrow to go to NYU so I'd love to hear about how others are doing so. Thanks!

Congratulations Wangjun, $10,000 is a lot of money! I wish I had gotten something, I didn't get anything so the prospect of almost $60,000 in loans is very scary (I already have $150,000 in loans for law school).
Was your scholarship one of the named ones? Or was it a general merit scholarship?

Apparently it is very difficult to receive financial aid as an international student embarking for LLM study. I am getting a big loan from my home country . I will be forced to watch the pennies for the yr!!

Ipforme,
You are right. NYU does not even have a financial aid form in their application materials. You can apply for the Hauser, but it is a separate procedure. I didnt apply for the Hauser, however, I have received a US$10,000 Dean Award from NYU, which is, I assume, a merit award.

I'm actually a domestic LLM candidat (American JD), and it doesn't seem like there's any financial aid for domestic JDs at all, with the exception of domestic LLMs in the tax program.
Oh well, it's borrowing a ton of loans for me. I think it's worth it though, NYU is such an amazing school!

Dear Wangjun:
I am glad to hear that u got a Hauser scholarship from NYU,congratulate! I am planning to apply a LLM in NYU next year, and my concern is the financial aid. I think you might share me some invaluable advice about your success! Will NYU consider a Hauser Scholarship automatically when you apply or the Hauser Scholorship just eligible to some special field of LLM program such as Constitution? I f i apply to a Comparative Law Program, how much is the possibility? How about the Corporate LLM program?
Anyone who can give me the answer is highly welcomed, i really appreciate your help!
