NYLS - is it good?

AB

I'm just wondering what people think about New York Law school. I've been looking at their LLM Taxation. Is it easy for people to find jobs post-NYLS LLM? I've heard all kinds of stories, so if anyone is an alumni pls give advice.

Thanks,

I reckon many people are cnsumed with their acceptance letters or just depressed about their rejections. Come on ya'll! Give some answers!

I can't say much about the LLM program.

But I am a graduate of the JD program. I graduated at the very top of my class and had much difficulty securing a job. There is a negative disparaging aura that surrounds NYLS. That's the truth. If I was to pursue an LLM, it would be with NYU.

As a JD student I took a lot of the LLM classes, and I have to say that the program itself and the faculty is amazing! Although there is a stigma surrounding NYLS in general, I feel like it dissipates with an LLM program, especially due to the distinguished faculty and their connections to the network of attorneys in this field. NYU has a better name and it is an older program, however if you cannot get into NYU, NYLS is a very good alternative and you should seriously consider it. There is somehting to be said for a small and personalized program.
