Hi guys.
I am considering to apply for the 2 yr JD for intl students at NU. Will anybody in this discussion board attend to this program this forecoming year??
I've thought to go, first, for the LLM Tax at NU and try to get this credits transferred to the 2 yr JD and finish it in one more year. Is that possible¿?
Can anybody give me his/her insights??
Thanks!

I dont think it is possible to complete ur JD program in 1 year by transferring credit from ur LL.M pROGRAM.
As far as I know, there are 2 Universities which allow u to complete ur JD with doing LL.M in 2 years
1. North Western University
2.Kansas University.
Doing a J.D is a better option, if u plan to practice in the United States, bcos getting a job with only a LL.M is extremely difficult.
However, if u plan to go back, doing a LL.M makes sense.
In the 2 year J.D Program, credit is given for ur foreign Law Degree and not 2 ur LL.M Degree earned in the United States.

I am an Attorney from India and got admitted to practice Law in India 1996. Thereafter, I worked for a MNC. I had to get my license to practice suspended as the Advocates Act, does not permit a peson to hold their license, whilst, in full time employment with a company.
I am currently designated as Non-Practising Advocate. However, I can get my suspension any time I wish to do the same.
Please let me know under these circumstances, would I be permitted to write the California Bar Exam ?
I would appreciate a quick response.

If you are an attorney you can take the California Bar Exam as an attorney applicant.
