Hi ALL, just wondering if people who applied to NW's LLM Tax program have heard from them? My application was completed in mid-October and according to their website, they strive to make decision within 6-8 weeks. I haven't heard anything which I think is not a good sign. Anybody else?

Dear Shoortie,
I heart NU, and in particular the Tax program, is not very prompt comunicating its decision. So, sit down, relax and there was a wise person that used to say "no news, good news..."
Good luck.

NU recieved my application on 11/1/06 and I have yet to recieve a decision. Does anybody know if there is a committee or if Postlewaite makes the decision himself?

it's a committee. i turned my application in at the beginning of november last year and i got accepted about mid-december. they called me first and wanted to do a phone interview first.

hi, do you remember the questions they asked? how long did you wait after the phone interview to find out that you were admitted?
Posted Dec 04, 2006 07:39
they just asked questions like "why do you want to do tax," "why do you want to come to NW," etc. it was pretty basic...i think they just want to know that you really want to come b/c they don't admit that many people. i got accepted about a week or two after the interview.

I submitted an application to Northwestern's Tax LLM on October 24. Still haven't heard... although I did go on an interview in late October.

I think you guys might have to wait until January ( I got admitted around that). NU does not work so fast. In addition, if you did an interview, the process of decision will take longer time. Last year, my friend asked for interview around early Feb, and finally he got admitted around March or April ( I am not so sure ), but the admitted letter dated back to Feb. It seems he already got accepted before asking for interview but because of his interview request, the school delayed everything.......dont know why?

Any news on admissions from anyone?

Hi guys. Any international lawyer applying to the Tax program at NU? If so, do you know if international applicants are considered for interview (maybe by phone)?
Thanks and good luck!

Int'l appliants can also get considered for interview either by phone or in person. My friend did it last year.
For decision, it might be out during late January.
