Hello. Unfortunately, I have not been offered any fellowship at Northwestern. As you know, this school doesn't give LLM students much fellowship even though the tuition of this school is one of the highest tuintion in the US. So, I have not applied for any fellowship. I also want to know how many LLM students can receive fellowship from this school.

Hi Passion and Lynn:
It is nice to see future classmates here. I have been admitted to NW and already paid deposit.
Regarding the issue of fellowship, I agree with Passion that NW does not have very generous fellowships in spite of the fact that the tuition fee is very high.
In addition, if I am right, several weeks ago Passion you could not decide between Cornell and NW. If it is possible, would you please let me know why your final decision goes to NW? I am just curious to know because both law schools are tough, and certainly it is hard to choose one. Thank you.
I look forward to seeing you in Chicago!

Hi Lynn and Cliff,
I am also very happy to know future classmates at Northwestern! Although almost all classes at NW are very tough, I am looking forward to seeing you in Chicago and studying with you at NW in this fall.
As Cliff knows, I mentioned that I had not been able to decide between Cornell and NW. To be honest, I had difficulty making up my mind to go to NW in this fall, knowing that Cornell is also one of the best law schools in the US. Finally, however, I decided to study at NW in this fall for the reasons below.
1. I am sure that each school has it own strong academic field. I think that Cornell and NW have the following strong fields.
Cornell - International Law
NW - Corporate Law
I am very interested in studying corporate law in the US, so I thought that NW is more appropriate for me to study corporate law.
2. There is a great difference between Cornell and NW in terms of their locations. As you know, Cornell is in Isaka where it will take me a lot of time from this town to NYC or other eastern cities. On the other hand, NW is in the center of Chicago where I can enjoy a typical urban life in the US as well as communicate with more law practioners. So, I thought that NW has better location for me.
Anyway, I can't wait for seeing talented and mature classmates such as Lynn and Cliff at NW!

Hi, I agree its nice to see future classmates here!
I just wanted to know how everyone is funding their tuition? We all agree that NW is expensive (ofcourse worth it!).
Anyone accepting the institutional loan offered by NW?- how long do u guys think it'll take to be debt free?
I heard that 6 fellowships were offered and 3 were accepted... I wonder how much it was...?
Cheers!

Passion - Thank you for your given answer. I appreciate your candid reasons and wholeheartedly agree with you that the location of NW is very attractive.
Silk - Congratulations on your fellowship provided by NW!!! I am certain that your profile must be very fabulous. Also, I am happy to know one more future classmate here.
Well, it might be a good idea for us to make a small NW community here before the fall semester actually begins. Now we have four persons including me here, and this is a good start for gathering future NW LL.M. graduates!!!
I am excited that I will meet such smart and knowledgeable people as Lynn, Passion, and Silk in such a spectacular city as Chicago!!!

Hi everyone,
As for accomodation, I discussed about its issue with an alumnus in my office the other day. He said that you can get an apartment near the campus such as North Pier Tower(http://www.northpiertower.com/Pages/TowerHome.html) even when your search for it in early August. So, to be honest, I don't worry aout it very much. If you have an opposite opinion, please don't hesitate to tell it.

Hi silk,
Thank you for your response! I will also start looking for accomodation soon. Are you using an agent such as Student Space?

Hi~everyone, it's so nice to meet all of you here. I also got the admission of NWU and their loan as financial aid for my study in LLM program there. But, I still haven't made my decision of whether go to study in NWU for I was admitted by UCLA at the same time. UCLA is another top university and CA is a good place for life! it's a tough choice too! How about your opinions? Can you give me some advices about the choice?

I just finished the JD program at Northwestern - I can say that I really enjoyed it, and enthusiastically reccomend the school.
Regarding accomodation, the most popular building is McClurg Ct, due to the fairly low rents and proximity. It should be your first stop. be sure to look into discounts for NWU students at all the buildings nearby (I ended up living at 420 E. Ohio and loving it, but it's a tad expensive)

Oh, and North Pier might be a bit far to be convenient (it's not that far, just farther than the others).

Hi tpsr,
I read your messages posted in the other threads. I'll be attending NU this fall. Could you give me more details about the job oppurtunities (or the lack of it!) for LLM students? Including LLM students graduating from the top 10 law schools like NU? Thanks, this wont change my decision, but since its a huge investment, I'd like to know what to expect. Cheers!

Sorry abt mistyping ur name, tspr!

Honestly, I think alot (if not most) of the LLMs have trouble finding a job in the US. Many of them take the bar exam, but the job market is tight for JD graduates, let alone LLM grads.

Hello tspr,
thank you for your opinion. Do you know what the oppurtunities for on capmus part time jobs are? Do LLMs usually work part time?
Thanks again!:)
