Northwestern

Billaws

Hello everybody.. I received a reply to my application from NW last week. They put me in their waiting list and I don't really know what to expect...I mean how bad is this? does anybody know if there are chances to be admitted from the waiting list?
Secondly, I have also applied to NYU,CLS,Georgetown,Tufts and Berkeley, considering that NW has initially rejected me, which you think are my chances for the schools mentioned above?
Thirdly,anybody from Greece around here???
Thanks!

In June the LLM/Kellogg Program starts (not the general LLM).

Hi all,

I got a decision from NWU today. Unfortunately, my application is placed on the waiting list. I understand that my problem is about the TOEFL score which is only 91. However, I dont wanna take another test because my home is in up-country and the test environment is quite terrible.

Anyone can tell me about my chance to get into NWU LLM program (General). NWU is my most preferable choice. Looking forward to hearing your advice.

NW is good university.. but only top 5 law school may land you a job in USA.. those who want to return back to their country, LLM in top 25 law school is a good option in any stream... the money involved in these law school is an important aspect.. for an example.. $60,000 -70,000 is equal to $5,00,000 ( lets assume ) after 10 years.. do you really think that such a degree is a good investment and will give you a that much return... Think wise... its never late.. LLM is good only for those who have firm idea what do they want to do after LLM... In USA, only 15% international LLM get job.. among them 90% do have work ex in USA or prior related working experience.... It is easy to be in top 10 law school but hard to return what you have invested.. even Harvard law school LLMs got 50% placement here in USA... what i have said is something hard and i believe you all are wise for your decision... and for those who got less than 100 in TOEFL, they should not come to USA. it is better to improve your score than come. It is as simple to get my words like to see a british columbia or Hollywood movie.. your professor are too good in order to teach you.. what if you cant understand them... but make it sure that all your fellow are better than you.. NWU is a challenging task.. TOEFL 90 is not bad as you may have another year to improve... take a defferment..
