Hello
I am a british solicitor working for an american law firm in London. I have completed the LLB, LPC and a Masters in the UK.
I would like the option of working in the states for a while (lets assume the big visa issue is not a problem) and eventually return to the UK. I have read a lot about the pros and cons of a JD/LLM online. I don't want to do a JD becuase of the LSAT/cost/time requirements to complete it and an LLM is not that useful for getting a job in the US.
I am considering to do a one year MBA (hopefully at a top US business school or Insead) and then complete the NY Bar afterwards. In terms of my career aspirations I think an MBA will be valuable becuase I would like to part of the management of a law firm one day and a solid grounding in business will help me with client related work.
I have read the best way to get work in US law firms is JD + NY Bar, rather than LLM + NY Bar. What are the chances of getting work with MBA + NY Bar?
Thanks
MBA over JD/LLM
