Hi,
I am from India. I am a commerce graduate, LLB and Company Secretary from India. I want to pursue a career in (non-litigation)in USA. I desire to work in law fimrs or companies, however not interested in litigation. My experience has been in corporate restructing agreements, corporate governance, etc. What should i do in US? LLM sounds fine but I have heard that US requires JD degree which is a three year's course....too long..will paralegal be fine??? Please help me if you can.
LLM/JD/paralegal- what to choose?

no i dont think that is a good idea. You don't even need a bachelors degree to be a paralegal in this country. It takes 2 years from high school.

What do you suggest? May I know what are you into? Can I search for a job on my LLB degree and then take up part time LLM? As I said, I dont want to practice law (litigation) but I want to work in a law firm or a company in legal department. Will LLM be fine? What will be the chances of getting a decent job after LLM?

First of all, LLB is an undergraduate degree, so you will need some extra education to work as an attorney (and probably also consultant) in the US. Unless you have some work experience. But, if you like working as a secretary (with some extra responsibilities), maybe you can get a paralegal job with good pay since you have a degree. But a paralegal is not a legal consultant or anything like that, so you might get disappointed. Some LLMs may be taken part time, but that might cause some visa issues, cause you have to finish 9 credits each semester to uphold your student visa. You might also have some trouble getting a work visa.
Good luck :)
Good luck :)
