Dear all

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. This has plagued me for a few weeks and I'm a little uncertain of what is best.

I have just completed my LL.B. degree. This is my second degree - I did a B.Eng (i.e. Engineering) before this. I have received conditional offers from Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and King's for the 2008/2009 term.

However, I intend to complete my pupillage over here, and get called to the bar in my jurisdiction first before doing the BCL or LLM (i.e. I'd probably have to defer my place till next year).

I know that I am not one for academia and so doing the BCL or LLM is purely to enhance my employability and marketability for practice in international law firms. I would very much like to work in the US, UK, Australia, Hong Kong or Dubai in time to come.

I am really very keen on doing the BCL at Oxford. But my query then is whether the BCL or the LLM will enhance my employability and marketability in the international arena. If an LLM is indeed useful, I intend to try applying to Harvard too.

I really hope that someone who has done the BCL at Oxford or LLM at Cambridge or Harvard could help me out here.
