The International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the international division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), is currently accepting applications for internships. ICDR offers unpaid internship opportunities to qualified students during the summer and the academic year. The selected interns will work with the ICDR International Translation Committee, most of whom are international arbitration practitioners working in international law firms.

Description of Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Vice President and Translation Committee Chair, the translation committee intern is responsible for providing translations of various ICDR materials over the period of their internship. Interns will translate ICDR documents, brochures, website content and other necessary materials as directed by ICDR management. Each intern is also responsible to liaise with other members of the committee when necessary to improve the quality and consistency of the translations.

Requirements:
Completion of at least two years of law school is required.

The candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills.

This internship will generally require about a one-year commitment, but may vary depending upon the circumstances.

There is no need to travel or relocate for this internship.

Candidates will need to show a strong familiarity with international mediation and arbitration practices, process and language in English and their mother tongue.

Candidate needs to have native tongue language capabilities in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Spanish. Only one of these languages is required to apply but fluency in others will be helpful.

Knowledge of and/or exposure to alternative dispute resolution and/or the legal profession is desirable.
