Hi,
I come from a Civil Law country in the Middle East. I have been accepted to USD LLM in Comparative Law program. I have already got a BA and MA in international Law from a Law school in my country. I know a little French and a little Arabic and also Persian. I have got 5 years of working experience back in my home as e legal adviser at a shipping company and also at Nokia's main distributor in the region.

From reading the posts on this forum I understood that having an LLM degree does not do me any good in finding a good job in a decent Law firm!! So pls help me if u have got any recommendation or suggestion

I would like to work as an immigration attorney and I would like to have my own law firm...

Shall I transfer to JD after the first semester in LLM at USD?

Is it possible to do the LLM , pass the bar exam and practice in immigration law?

since I am already eligible to do a 2 years JD ( regarding my BA and MA) , does having a degree in LLM shorten the period? or do as waiver for the LSAT exam?

Finally, If I choose to pursuing academic career what are the chances if I finish the LLM and go for PHD?

thanks
