I have a U.K LLB and am eligible to sit the NY bar exam - I plan to take the MPRE in aug then the NY bar exam in Feb. I intend to practice as a lawyer in my home country once i pass the bar exam with the hope of working in the U.S eventually. However i spent 3 1/2 years after i graduated working illegally in a bar in NYC. I am currently back in the U.K. Does anyone know how this would affect my chances of satisfying the moral fitness requirement to sit the bar exam. Should i even disclose this as (the immigration authorities do not know that i overstayed my tourist visa in NY by 3 years)? However if i don't i will have 3 1/2 yr time gap in my application or i'll have to lie. I can't find any information on this, i know that even a criminal conviction is not an absolute bar, they seem to come down harder on those who lie or omit details in their application. I would hate to put in the work only to find that i am not permitted to sit the exam. If anyone has any info please reply . K
