Wangjun my man!
Youâre in deep with that one! I wouldnât want to be in your shoes⦠thatâs for sure! These deposits are definitely non-refundable, and I know you would spending that cash on a hot date rather than mailing it to some admissions office in Saint-Louis!

What you got to do is play it cool, and maybe theyâll extend the deadline. I drafted a quick email for you ⦠feel free to improvise and improve, maybe give them an excuse. I made up a super plausible story about your being eligible for a scholarship ⦠(man, I hope youâre not applying to a school with an honor code like Virginia!) Let me know if this works!

P.S. dont use the scholarship story if your grades are terrible because remember, they have your transcript and theyâll know that you're taking them for a ride

Dear admissions officer,

I just received your letter of admission. Thank you!

I would like to know if you would be kind enough to extend the deadline youâve given me to confirm my admission, from March 15th to March 30th. This extra time will allow me to make sure that I am eligible for a scholarship in my home country. If this is not possible, I completely understand and will send you my $500 deposit before the required March 15th deadline.

Best regards,
wangjun
