Hi,
I will pursue an LL.M. degree in 2014 and was wondering if anybody has tips about how to prepare for it? Is it best to start reading books about different topics (US constitution, jurisdiction, etc.) or do you think there are better / other ways to make yourself familiar with US law?
Kind regards
How to prepare for the LL.M.?

Erstwhile, I did my JD in the US after having grown up abroad. What I really wish I did that would have helped me is to read up on US history so that I would have had some context going into my classes. Additionally, I think that if you're planning to take the NY bar, you should start looking into the paperwork requirements for that.
I did try reading some substantive law topics but that didn't help me at all.
Hope this helps!

Hi! I'm doing my LLM at the moment in the US, and I don't think it is necessary to prepare in advance. Having said that, I agree with the previous comment that having some general understanding of US history could be useful (especially if you are interested in US Constitutional Law).
