Hi,
I'm at Cambridge studying law as an undergraduate, and was just wondering how competitive it would be to get an offer from Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago and other similar schools to study the LLM?
Any help much appreciated!

Its very competitive!
You need excellent grades though that is not the only test.
Your career plans after the LL.M (as articulated in your personal statement) could also go a long way to secure or deny you admission. At least two years experience and one year experience for SLS and CLS respectively; but this rule can be relaxed depending on your uniqe situation.
Finally, you need luck.
Best of luck in your applications!

I am in Cambridge studying Law at the moment as well and have got offers from Harvard, NYU, Oxford and Cambridge. I think it is particularly competitive for Oxford and Harvard - you basically need to be ranked very highly in your year and/or get a First for both (in your first and second years at Cambridge) to get in. The others are less so. Email me if you have any questions.

Thanks, what's your hermes?
Congrats on all the offers.
Basically I'm looking for good US schools that will probably accept with a decent 2.i, although I'm in my first year so have no clue yet how I'll do.

You can contact me at ymnt2. I think most US schools will accept you with a decent 2.i - I wouldn't worry too much about it if you are in your first year. You only need to be thinking about it when you apply beginning third year, earliest.
