Anyone out there who already received an acknowledgment that the application file is complete?
I received an email 10 days ago that they have received my application and that they will acknowlege me in case of completion of my file. Since then I haven't heard anything. Neither they asked fo my LSAC reports. I am really wondering what they are pondering about???
Any suggestions?
Daniel

Hi Daniel.
I think they must have been very busy. They received my application more than 25 days ago, but they only confirmed the receipt on November 3rd. They informed that they would send an e-mail or a blue postcard indicating the status. Maybe there is a postcard coming...slowly...
From which universities have you received confirmation of completeness?

Thanks for your answer. Very busy is ok, but how should one send additional material in time if they don't inform about the missing documents? I come from Germany and a letter can take up to two weeks.
Anyway, I received confirmation from Columbia and Virginia- waiting for Pennsylvania and Harvard
Good luck

Hello Daniel.
I have been wondering about this. There are two possible answers. First, they can think that it is our responsibility to ensure that all documents arrive properly and timely. They are just trying to help letting you know that you application is incomplete, but is was not their obligation to notify you. If they do not think that way (and I hope not), they will probably take into consideration the fact that one did not have time to complete the missing parts of the application in due time, since they were very slow in notifying the applicants. Therefore, if a document arrives just after the deadline, they will probably consider the date in which the application with the forms, personal statement, etc, arrived.
I Have received confirmation from Columbia, Chicago, Northwestern, Virginia, Michigan and NYU. Still waiting for Harvard, UPenn and Cornell.

By the way, I has just received a confirmation from Yale.
They received my application only two days ago (!!!).
I wish other schools process as fast as Yale does.

Hi Igorek
Columbia was very quick. They confirmed only 4 days after receipt of my application.
Obviously Yale is the quickest. This might be the consequence of their small program. I know only a few people who applied there because most people think it is a waste of time ( few places; for Germamy only 1 place!!) or they consider the program too sophisticated ( not that good for commercial lawyers).

Sounds reasonable. Anyway, I apply to Yale, Harvard, Columbia and NYU. My priorities are Harvard and Columbia..
And my major is Securities Regulations.

I have just finished my application process so i am sending them tomorrow by DHL to Yale, Harvard, Columbia and Stanford. But I didnt include my TOEFL scores because i passed it on 15th of October and havent received them yet, i hope that they will reach universities untill 1st of December.
Although i have strong background i have very little chances for being admitted, my TOEFL scores were only530 PBT.:( Anyway lets try....

Hi guys, by the way who knows is there a problem if TOEFL score report reach university earlier than other documents (application, purpose of statement etc). ? Thanx
Posted Nov 20, 2005 15:53
This shoukld be no problem. In my case exactly this happened at Columbia Law School. They gave me an information of completeness anyway.

In fact, I think you should ask that you report be delivered as early as possible, as there are many problems with the transmission of the report. Some universities said that they had not received my TOEFL report although I have requested them more then a month ago. Personally, I think they are a little bit disorganized and they already had my score report, but they didnt know it. Fortunately, the problem was solved quickly.
Bottom-line is: send them as soon as you can!

Any news from Harvard? I still have have not received a confirmation of completeness. They even did not ask LSAC to send my report. I think, theyeven will not do it until dec1. So my materials won't be complete til dec1. The use of LSAC is really a damn thing. Wish, I had not used it. Sending all materials in one package seems to be far better..... On the other hand, ain case of Virginia it worked very well. Maybe I should blame Harvard. I guess, they won't care too much:)

You may hear the additional news after comming Monday, because thanks giving break was started after yesterday class in my law school not Harvard....
Posted Nov 23, 2005 21:43
Finally, today I sent my application materials to HLS , i used one package and place there of my documents except TOEFL scores, as`i have mentioned in previous posts,
Posted Nov 24, 2005 06:33
Yeah, one package works much better. At least, you know that all the documents have been received and don't need to track each paper. LSAC is absolutely unreliable here.
Still no confirmation of completeness from HLS.

Hi Igorek, so we r in the same HLS boat :)
I am little bit worrying about TOEFL scores report, because i passed it on 15th of October and shown that i need sending report to HLS, but can it be lost and is there a chance that TOEFL administrator have not sent my scores report to HLS,
Do i have to ask for new scores report?
