hello,
I received an e mail friday afternoon stated that they would to have my original french transcripts as I only sent them kind of homemade transcripts without reference to my numerical french grades so they want me to send them the originals french one
but I don't know if they know that here your institution only give one original and that you hava to make copies and that nobody send original, never mind I found a solution asked copies but make them certified conform to the original french one by a member of the administration office
also they informed me about my toefl waiver requested stating that the request is pending
Tomorow I gonna send them the transcripts via chronopost my good so much money I already use chronopost the last time to send the application so 53euro + 53 euro it's money guys when you don't know if you will be admitted
for information they received my application the 10th or 11th of november so don't worry guys I think the 2nd emial will reach you soon
but Iwas asking myself the meaning of such an email if I send them the missing material can I considered my application complete or have I expected a new email stating wheter or not my aplication is complete
best regards and happy new year

Still no news regarding second e-mail (besides the general one stating that they were going to look into it, sent early this month). Are there any others in my situation or should I consider mailing HLS?

Same here. I haven't received the second notice. I won't mail them and would not advise you to do so, because they state very clearly in the instructions that they will not answer individual questions regarding status of application. It is not advisable to contradict so clear a rule.
"A notice will be sent to you confirming receipt of your application; we will then send you a second notice indicating whether your application is complete. Other than these two notices, we regret that we cannot provide acknowledgements (nor respond to individual requests for confirmation) as to the receipt of specific documents".
Later on, they say:
"Given the number of applications we receive and the relatively short time available to process, circulate, review, and respond to each one, it is not possible for us to reply to telephone, fax, or e-mail inquiries asking us to verify receipt of application materials or confirm application status. Responding to such inquiries would slow the entire admissions process significantly for all applicants, while servicing only a few. We regret the impression of impersonality that this may give, and ask you to understand
that it would take more time than we have available to respond to status inquiries.
Although we cannot respond to status inquiries by telephone, fax, or e-mail, we will keep you informed of the status of your application by sending you a notice after we first receive your application form, and a second notice letting you know whether your application is complete. No further notices will be sent".

Same here..I received my first notice on 16 Dec that also stated they had been unable to retrieve my information from LSAC. I checked with LSAC and was told that a hold was mistakenly placed on my account! Apparently Harvard requested my report on 29 Nov but it turned out that LSAC released it on 21 Dec...No news re second notice since..

no second notice here, too...
Posted Feb 07, 2006 07:15
I have already received the 1st one and the 2nd one last mid-December.

A french University where all the basic legal education is instructed in English and I think if you applied to HLS you noticed the statement: If your basic legal education instructed in English you can ask a waiver,
So I request a waiver Cornell seems, to be ok and HLS in their last email said that the request is pending

This is interesting indeed - I wasn't aware that there were French universities with instruction in English. Last I checked, universities like Paris I, Paris II, Aix-Marseille, etc. all have courses in French.

I have heard nothing from Harvard, apart from the fact that I know they have been sent my LSAC report. I emailed them but no reply. I had to send them a money order from a French post office for the application fee and have no way of knowing if they ever received it.

Good luck to all of you who are waiting for admission decision from HLS. I know how painful the waiting is.
For your information, as far as I've asked from my classmates, we (students of the class 2005-2006) got the admission email all at the same time on March 25 (or 26) of last year.
If I have chance to talk to the admission office, I will ask whether they have tentative date for annoucing the first- round decision and will let you know.
Keep your finger crossed. Cambridge/Boston is such a nice city to live in!

Hey! Thank u!.... Could u please give us and idea of the average credentials of a Harvard LLM student?

Chris:
Thanks for the information and your help in getting the real inside information as to when we all will become aware of Harvards class of 2006. Our anxiety creates a lot of misinformation on the chat.
Many of us have followed your 2005 class journey last year on this chat. We are now going through the same double thinking that is exhibited in your classes chat.
In a month all this will be food for the next years class so we will all hit critical mass about mid-March.
Is Harvard really a Harvard?
