Georgetown Fall 2022

Does anyone know if Georgetown follows a postmark deadline? If I applied now, would there still be a chance of consideration, seeing as LSAC can take weeks to process the documents? Thanks in advance!

Someone in last year's discussion mentioned that the absolute hard deadline for Georgetown is way after the indicated one; however, this depends upon the availability of seats. On the same note, I did see some students apply in March last year and they got admitted. You should definitely apply (even if your transcripts take time to process).

What I understand was that you can apply after the DL of the 04 february but it will cost you 100$ more.
Moreover, you have to consider the fact that it will be a rolling admission process and LSAC can take 8 weeks or more (buisiness day) to process all the documents (if everything is sent correctly on the first time) :)

Correct. Processing will take ages. In my case, I was notified of a missing doc after a month and because of that all my reports have been delayed (do not panic this won't happen to you just be sure to check all documents carefully). Last I wrote to LSAC they said processing was 18-22 days but that said, it might become a bit shorter as the peak wears off.

Georgetown was accepting LLM applications all the way up until August last year, at least for the tax program. They had a notice up on the website. I wrote to them and they confirm that they were still accepting applications on a seat availability basis.

Hey all, Just got my acceptance email from Georgetown for their online executive tax program. Applied 12/14 marked complete 12/17. Acceptance 1/28. Decision email came at 8am PST, although my status date went blank around noon the day before. Congrats to everyone else that has made it thus far. For those that have not heard back yet, keep the faith. We are still early in the process.

Hi all,

Is it a good idea to send an email to the Admissions Committee to ask about the status of the app? Does it actually, in someway, help in getting a decision soon if it has already been 5-6 weeks since the app was marked complete? Or does the Committee only reply with a generic "6-10 weeks" response?

Don't know what's causing the delay. I guess all foreign graduates who applied around Christmas haven't received their decisions, yet. I could be wrong.

Hello -

Has anyone received news on scholarships/fellowships? I was admitted on December 15, 2021 but have not yet heard back in this respect. When can we expect to have more information? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I reached out via email last week this is the response:-

"The Admissions Committee has already made some general merit awards but intends to make additional awards in the coming weeks and months."

I think I applied on December 21st. Still no response. They really do not like to get these "where's my decision emails", so I doubt this will have any positive effect.

No, but I am an admitted student, and when I click on my applicant status, I now have a Georgetown email under my second email. I don't recall seeing this earlier, so maybe it's coming soon.

Does anybody know, whether you receive an email regarding scholarship decision, even if they won't offer you a scholarship at all? Or do they text only the students, whom they offer a scholarship? Didn't find anything in las years discussion..
