Georgetown decision?

I am still waiting to hear from Georgetown. What has been the turnaround time for you all? I am worried about how much my undergraduate grades may hurt me. I damn near flunked out of undergrad trying to pursue an engineering degree, and had to graduate with a general studies degree (although after I left engineering i was on dean's and chancellor's list a couple of semesters before graduating). I have two years of work experience as a political consultant to federal, state and local campaigns.

Can anyone give me an estimate on chances of getting into NYU, G'Town, UF? (all applications are complete) I really want to go to G'Town because of their course offerings (Taxation of Energy markets, private equity, etc.)

Top 20%, Tier 3
3.26 GPA
Tax I-(B-) (while working full-time, i was a night student my first year and summer working as a political consultant.
Tax II- (A)
Family Tax- (A)
SALT -(A)(highest grade)
Business Orgs. -(A)
Business Planning -(A)

I worked for one of my tax profs helping with her tax management portfolio, my comment on the taxation of foreign shipping companies is be published, and the prints should be in any day, and I am the managing editor (substance and citation) of a journal at my school (Not law review)

Also, I am president of the tax law society and I am running the VITA program this spring.

This semester I am enrolled in 4 tax classes=corps, partnerships, estate & gift, and tax procedure.

Any guidance would be great. If anybody was admitted/enrolled with these credentials it would be very helpful! Thanks.

Just noticed that the people who indicated that they have been admitted seem to have received their notification on the same day. Is this a common trend?

My application was received in early December, completed January 4th, and still says "Application Completed". It has not switched to "Under review" or anything like that.

FYI - my status never changed. It still says application completed when I log into my status check. And I got the decision over a month ago. You'll probably just get an email outta the blue.

Richard-
Mine just went to "Application Under Review" yesterday, rather than "Application Completed." I'll keep you posted.

Richard-
I got accepted today via e-mail. So, the turnaround was about 2 days after my status went to "under review." My status now returned to "Completed." I hope this helps.

I applied under early action status. My status still says "Application Completed." It has been that way since January 6. For people who have already received an admission decision: did your status ever change to "application under review" and then "decision" once a decision had been made? Were you only able to log-in to the admitted students site after the status changed to "decision?"

Same here (including the two days). Never reflected "decision." Email (sent within an hour or so of change from "under review" back to "completed") contained temporary sign in credentials for admitted student website which was accessible within 24 hours. Hope this helps and good luck.
