I submitted my first LL.M. application to Georgetown. I used the on-line application. When I was completing the application, I had some trouble, mainly with the phone numbers (for some reason the program did not accept them). Finally, I was able to submit it, and I received an email confirming it. My credit card was also charged. Couple of weeks ago I found out that GU has not received my application. A person from the Admissions Office promised to look into it, but I haven't heard from her since. Has any of you had similar problems with Georgetown?

Sorry can't help you much with that issue, however i was wondering if you could help me.
Why is GULC's LLm programs quoted as not recommended for Bar exams? do you know graduates from GULC who took and pass the Bar exam?

I did not encounter any problems, still I am trying to give you some advice. How have you found out that they have not received your application? I think you should forward them your confirmation mail and make the matter urgent. You should also call the lady again and tell her about the confirmation mail, that you forwarded the confirmation and that your credit card has been charged already. Try to be persistant. Naturally they are very busy and stressed so you probably need to be as persistant as you can in order to look after your own interest.
Good luck ;-)

I tried to use Georgetown's online status check system, but when I couldn't log in, I contacted them. I sent them the first confirmation email and after that they promised to investigate the matter. But I will follow your advice and be persistent. Thanks! As regards Georgetown and bar admission, I don't really know why they do not recommend their LL.M for bar exams. I am applying for LL.M programs because I'm writing a doctoral dissertation on comparative legal history. Consequently, I don't know much 'bout practicing law in the US. My hunch is that Georgetown LL.M would be as good a preparation for bar exam as any other, but it's only a hunch.
