Georgetown 2-Year LL.M & Duke Law Joint Degree

sed

Hi to all,

I had admissions from 2-Year LL.M. Program of Georgetown (1st year: legal langauge education, 2nd year: LL.M. in International Legal Studies and WTO certificate option) and Duke Law (LL.M. + MA in International Development Policy at the end of two years)

With the aspect of the quality of education and living standarts, which one will you offer?

For future work on international legal study and international organizations, which one will be the better option? and Why?

Best,

Sed

Hey Sed,

Like you, I applied to Georgetown and Duke and decided to go to Duke for several reasons. My main interest is international law as well and I'm very much interested to find a job in the field after I finish the LLM (although I know the odds are slim).
However, I've never heard about Duke's LLM+MA program and even after searching thoroughly in the Duke law website, I still couldn't find it. All the joint programs are for JDs, but what you mentioned here sounds very very interesting.
Could you please let me know where I can find details about the program?

Re international law- Gtown is ranked higher in that field, but in my opinion Duke has great courses and programs to offer in that field. Also their int law professors are top notch. I don't think that Gtown's English program is to give you an advantage, I think it is merely for foreigners who wish to improve their English skills.
Thanks!
