I hope so and that would be my pleasure to meet you and grantees from other countriesbefore starting the LLM.

Hi guys,
Just came across this thread. I'm a Fulbrighter from Thailand :)
I have been admitted to CLS and is waiting for HLS' decision. If HLS fails me, I would go to CLS. I did not apply through IIE and processed all my application myself (think it would be faster this way). How are you guys doing with your applications? Good luck and hope to see you all in DC!!

Hi Samata
I am a fulbright grantee from Afghanistan. Congratulation for being admitted in CLS. You are very lucky that you could find this chance to apply on your own. IIE applied on behalf of me to four law schools. I am waiting for the reply.
Yeah, see you in DC in July!

I'm also a Fulbright grantee from Greece. Is there going to be an enrichment seminar for Fulbrighters in DC in July?

To L&E-pil
In the years 2007 and 2006, there were three week Pre-LLM programs for Fulbright grantees. One in Georgetown and anothre one in UC Davis. According to some of the Fulbright grantees, this year the program would be in DC. However, I don't really know who are eligible for this program, but assume I might be one of them. Ha ha ha

Shayan,
I tried contacting fulbright office at home and they know nothing about this program. Do you know if we have to apply to the university directly or through the local fulbright office? What about the tuition and expenses, would it be paid for?
Thanks :)

Before I mentioned that according to one of the Fulbright grantees this program is going to happen in Washington DC this year. I searched the last years programs. There were two programs. From July 8 to August 4, one in Georgetown and the other one in UC Davis. I asked the Fulbright Officer in my country, he said yes there is a program like that of last years, however he wasn't certain about it. He told me he will refer my question to IIE and will give me a reply. I am waiting for that.
From March 16 to 18, there is pre-departure orientation for the Fulbright grantees in my country. I will participate there and maybe I can find some more information, since someone from IIE will come to the orientation.
I hope it helps.

To the Fulbright Grantees
IIE told me that the pre-LLM program starts early July.
There are 28 Fulbright grantees(different fields) from my country. One of them has his visa, two of them wait for their visa and will leave April 5th. Six others leave between June 1 to June 15 and the others later. (This division is based on the TOEFL score)

To Shayan,
Thanks for such helpful information. Did you ask them when you can know your law school?

I asked, but they don't know yet. As soon as they get the news, they will inform us. It is the case which happened to other Fulbright grantees in my country. What about you? Did you hear something about the placements?

To Shayan,
I have no news from them yet. I don't even know to which law schools they have submitted my application form. I will keep you posted for any progress of that on my side.

Hi everyone! My academic adviser has just informed me that I was admitted to Duke, Upenn and Georgetown and that up to this date Duke had only offered very little aid. I am currently awating for a response concerning the aid in form of a tuition waiver from both Upenn or Georgetown. I guess Laspau (which is the placing agency intended for most Fulbrighters from Latin America) will choose the University to provide the highest possible aid. Will keep you guys posted on this.
By the way, has anyone received the official letter from the Embassy awarding the scholarship?

No formal letter (which is quite scary!). However, I need their supporting letter to apply for housing. So they have issued me this support letter.
Shayan, I asked my fulbright local officer again regarding the prelaw program. A fb alumni informed me that the IIE fully supported everything for the program. However, the local officer told me that I would be able to attend the program if it is a condition to my attending the LLM (which is contrary to what I learned from the alumni). Do you know what should be the case? Or do you have the contact of responsible IIE people? If IIE supports me on this program, would it affect my general funding (which doesn't cover tuition)? Thanks a lot.

I haven't gotten the formal letter yet. In my case,Fulbright covers all the expenses regarding studying in US. So there should be some differences between our status. The responsible person in IIE who I asked is just working on the placement of the Fulbright grantees from my country. In her e-mail she stated " We will do our best to get you into the LLM preac program it is available for all Fulbrighters on a first come first serve basis.
As soon as you have an academic placement only then will we be able to arrange Preacademic placement."
I hope it helps.

To all Fulbright grantees
I got admission to UC Davis on Feb 21. GWU sent a decision letter to IIE on my application. However, IIE didn't give me information if I am admitted in GWU or not. Fordham is about to start processing my application.
What about you? Did you hear anything? I am really worried about the process. I don't know what happens to the pre-llm program too.
Please give me some inforamtion or advice.

I hope you do well on the interview and hope to get admission into BU. Where did you find that you are admitted in the mentioned schools? IIE told you or you directly asked the schools?
In my case, IIE didn't tell me anything.
