hello everyone,
well i decided to post a message here hopefully will i manage to find people who could help me by giving me good information.
im a french law student who gonna start her 5 year in banking & stock exchange law in france.
Unfortunately my wish is not to work in france but abroad and especially US.
I thought til recently i could become a lawyer in france and then through equivalences becoming a lawyer in US..but it doesnt work this way ....
i discovered the "only way" to achieve my goal to work in US would be to get a JD in the US .But my family is not rich and i clearly cant borrow $ 150 000 if i ever get admitted ....
i thought about doing a LLM but i've read some people who went to do a LLM and who said they ruined themselves for nothing and that the LLM was considered as a kind of certificate for a good level at english....the LLM was just a way for big law firms in Paris for example to get "the best people".
is there any other way to work in the law field in the US?if i ever do a LLM will that be useful ?or considering i come from a non common law country...i have no chances and the only way would be a JD....that i cant afford!
im getting pessimistic about my dreams and hopes ....
all i wanted is to experience life oversea for some time but i guess law was maybe not the right choice to have such an opportunity....hopefully i am wrong!
thank you in advance for your replies

Qui ne tente rien n'a rien !!!
I think you should apply for a LLM considering you cant afford a JD. If you really want to leave in the USA the hardest part after the LLM is the work permit/visa/green card. I think that you can work w/ a llm degree but it must come from a very good school. Being French I advise you to do the llm+intern in the US + Go back to france for a couple years and come back.
