After reading the concerns expressed regarding employment opportunities for L.L.M. attorneys, I thought these few comments may be of some benefit. As the Director of Recruiting and an attorney who specializes in the placement of L.L.M. attorneys throughout the United States, I can assure you that attending a top ten school is not the only criteria that firms consider. Prior work experience and G.P.A. in the Masters Program are just as important in getting your foot in the door. Once there, the personal interview and the preparation for it, become all important in getting the position.
I will honestly tell you, that having a recruiter working for you will get your resume to the right people at the right firms, cutting through the red tape that most will have to go through. Plus the services are 100% free to attorneys, the firms pay the recruiting fees, and are strictly confidential.
I hope the comments have been helpful and give some hope to those worried about finding employment. If anyone has any other questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at asimpson@aprcareers.com
