Hello everybody))
it's an important time now in my life, and i'm looking for universities in NY for LLM prog.
actually i can't make a choice, do i need LLM or should i start education from the beginning.
a finished uneversity in my country 4 years ago and have Master's in Law , and 4 years of working experience as investigator of econimic crimes.
in my country, law system is radically different with USA, that's why i can't make a decision what program to choose.

If you faced such a problem i would be appreciate for your advice.
and one more question, 12.01.2013 i will have a TOEFL exam, is it possible to apply for university if i reach score under 100 points?

thanks fo answers))

hello!
LLM is a good option since you already have masters and work ex. You will ofcourse, be given, basic training in american law at whatever uni u go to!
Of course job prospects are better with a JD but it might just be a repetition of what you've studied already. Not to mention it will be expensive!
And with regard to TOEFL, u should definitely try to get a 100. As to what happens if you don't score a 100, you should check with the colleges.

Some universities are more strict about the TOEFL score (Chicago, Columbia, Harvard) but some will not be so strict, and will let you do an English test / course at their campus, in order to pass the English requirement (Cornell, Penn, Georgetown). You should really decide what university is the most suitable for you, and then you know what TOEFL score you need.
