Hi everyone since it is LLM application season. I want to know what everyone here thinks of the value of a Duke LLM ? I would like to know as to what is reputation of Duke Law in industry, academia and students? Is it comparable to the top 5 ie the likes of Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, NYU , Cornell or is it more comparable or leader among the likes of Berkeley, Northwestern and UCLA ?.

What are the realistic chances of an India Qualified lawyer to secure a law firm job in US post Duke LLM ?


Appreciate any comments or information .

Congrats on the admission! Duke is certainly more comparable towards the latter group. Higher than UCLA but around equal(ish) with Berkeley/Michigan in terms of academia. I think the job prospect (Duke being located in NC) may not be as appealing as like Northwestern or Berkeley where they are located in big markets like those of Chicago and Bayarea. When did you apply to Duke? It seems like you got the results in quite early. 

Hey @ EC . Thanks a lot for the reply. It helps put things in perspective. Yes I believe I am one of the very early ones to get an offer. I applied in early September. 
I am most likely going to accept the offer. Just waiting for any partial financial waiver or scholarship. are you applying for Duke ?

Nice! Yes they start sending acceptances beginning in December so you're one of the early ones I believe. Yes I am applying to Duke as well. Hoping to submit in the following week or two. Congrats on the admission once again :)

hi , i did have an interview with the admissions dean.  i got the offer on the 5th ot December. Thanks a lot for thew wishes

Congrats on being admitted. I submitted in end of Nov. and am still waiting. 
It is not difficult to get a job during OPT post LLM Duke. But after that it is difficult to get HI-B visa working in the U.S. unless you have PR.

It costs more than 100K a year. Too~ much.
