Hi everybody,
I received two offers so far, from GW and Cardozo School of Law. If I had to decide now, I would choose the second one, because it offered me a generous scholarship that will decrease the tuition. But I have a doubt: how do I reject an offer? Do I simply not answer before the deadline (GW told me to answer before March 3rd, Cardozo March 13th) or do I have to send a formal answer, even for declining the offer? Thank you.
PS: I'm waiting for UVA (but only if they offer me a scholarship as well), has anyone already received the offer?

just write them a short email to say you're declining, that should be sufficient.

Haven't you received a form (Declaration of Intent) together with your admission letter from GW? It seems to be quite simple to decline the offer by filling out the form. By the way, I am asked to make decision whether or not to accept offer from GW by April 15. Yours seems to be so urgent. Good luck.

To go back on topic,
I have already declined my offers from UVA and from Duke. I do this quite early in the process to make space for someone else.

By the way, hope you didn't forget to tell Duke "Hey guys, I know a very good applicant, Aky, who is just exceptional ! Please give him my seat, you won't regret it !!!" :D

I believe it is a question of fairness to let th euni know that you wont accept the offer (if you have a better offer from another uni). But do you guys think it is a good idea to write them and say that you have a "better" offer and sk them to match that offer (or even better, ask them to give you scholarship/waiver of fee) if they want you to reconsider....
or is that too much :)

I know that therebare good reasons to accept and decline offers. Money for sure is one of them. But, why would you accept a Cardozo offer rather than. UVA offer because of a part tuition waiver? I had an offer from BU with a half tuition waiver and declined it without thinking once I got into Columbia. UVA is so much better ranked and has a way better reputation (except for IP) that I would not just make the decision pursuant to a probably 20k waiver, they tend to give very fast. Remember that NYC is so much more expensive than Virginia that the waiver is not even worth the value on it.
But of course, my statement only applies if you decide solely because of the waiver. If you have other reasons, you can forget about what I just said...

Hello,
I am a deferred applicant and I got accepted for the admission this time @ GWU...
but the concern is scholarship from GWU...
Has anyone received any scholarship from GWU?
secondly, how better are the chances for an LLM from GWU in IP to get a good job
