Decision between Georgetown and UCLA

BlueFly

Hi guys, I believe most have received offers from your favorite schools. I will study LLM with specialization in securities law and Financial law. How to make decision between Georgetown and UCLA?

UCLA is not traditional T14 law school. But in 2022 ranking, UCLA is T14 while Georgetown is T15. Comparing their courses, I found that Georgetown offers more courses in Securites Law than UCLA.

Any inputs will be appreciated. Please ignore scholarship award because both schools gave me little. Thank you.

I had offers from both law schools too, and those were my thoughts:
1. business-wise California is the place to be;

2. Sure, GULC is great also due to its proximity to SEC and so on, but if you were interested in start-ups, ICOs, fintech, et cetera, then I would strongly consider UCLA (+ Professors Bainbridge and Park reputation is huge)

3. if you target east coast law firms, then GULC might be the best choice, while if you want to stay in California - UCLA pefectly suits your will.

Hi, thank you for good advice. I do love Los Angeles and even have leased a nice place for coming academic year. But I could not ignore courses offered in Securities law. I checked professors' background in both schools. Motivated by intellectual interest, I guess I have my decision by brain, different by heart.  What's your choice? Anyway, good luck,friend !
