Hi All
I am aware that this site is dedicated to the LLM, but would like to know your opinion on correspondence JD degrees and institutions.
I am aware of all of the issues surrounding correspondence JDs, the ABA guidelines and subsequent Bar eligibility restrictions and have viewed the regulations of almost all of the Bars.
However, despite these obstacles, I simply cannot presently attend a ABA approved law school, due to work commitments.
I am aware that the state of California does allow one to sit the CALBAR after completing correspondence JDs offered by certain law schools.
These law schools include Concord, William Howard Taft, Old Brook, Northwestern and others.
I would just like to know the following:
1) In your opinion, which are the best law schools that offer a correspondence JD that will subsequently allow one to sit the CALBAR?
2) Would a correspondence JD, in any way, benefit one for the NY Bar? (I am aware that one option of gaining access to the NY Bar eligibility is completing a US ABA-approved LLM)
3) Would a correspondence JD, in any way, benefit one for work prospects?
Thanks in advance for your replies!
