Hi, guys. Congrats to all who got admitted.
I got an offer from both Cornell and Duke recently. Im still contemplating which one is more suitable for me, and I would really appreciate it if you guys can share your opinion on it.
My criteria for choosing Law School are as follows.
1. Bar exam
- Since I am sponsored by my company, I dont have to worry about tuition fee, but there is a sole option on sponsorship to pass bar exam in 2 years after an entrance. Thus, I really need to pass bar exam as soon as possible. I know both schools are prestigious Law School, but Id like to know which one is better more helpful for international students to pass bar exam. By the way, Im going to try NY bar exam.
2. Living cost
- I dont need to pay tuition because of the sponsorship, but I should bear the living expense on my own. As I am going to go the U.S. with my family, a wife and one daughter, I need to cut down the living cost as much as I can. Regarding price of staple commodities and housing, which place is better than the other one?
3. Living environment
- I truly hope that my family satisfies the living in the country. From what I can see now, it appears both Ithaca and Durham have beautiful scenery and great public security. My wife is a little bit anxious about the environment and she hope there are some activities that she can enjoy with three year old daughter or fun places that she can go with her.
Thats all I care about deciding future law school. It would be really grateful if you guys give your idea about it.
