Hey,

Yes, I was also admitted to this program. I received my confirmation in the mail this morning.

I am not sure whether I will accept this offer, although I know it is a really good program at an Ivy League school. The main thing putting me off is location. I think I would rather spend a year in New York City or Chicago than up state New York.

Have you made a decision yet?

Exactly the same thing for me. I'm waiting for decisions from Berkeley, NYU, Columbia and Harvard... any of these schools, I would go. If they don't accept me, I don't know if I would go to Cornell... I would have to think about it, mostly because of the location.

I also was admitted to Cornell (as well as to CLS, NYU and UPENN). In the admission letter there was a reference that I am "also considered for a fellowship".

The problem is that Cornell is the only school which is thinking of granting a fellowship. What do you think an amount of such fellowship could be? Any historical examples? If anyone else has the same wording - when do you think (or know) they gonna reply if they are giving money?

i don't think you have any reason to go to cornell if you are admitted to CLS, NYU or UPENN, even if Cornell would give you money which i guess not likely.

I applied a few days before the deadline and my status is still "applied". (it's been more than a month and a half now) Does anyone else have the same problem? Could it be a technical error due to "record of applications" ? I would hate to think that I'll have to wait 6 more weeks for a reply (that is once my application turns "complete")!

I suggest you start bombarding them with e-mails right away...

I forgot to mention that I had e-mailed them, but I had no reply. just received one saying that I should be hearing from them within the next few weeks regarding the status of my application (they are currently checking files to determine whether they are complete and e-mailing applicants) and that they thank me for my patience. Has anyone applied around late January and has a different application status? Or even a decision???

I suggest you call them or mail them asap. I had a very similar experience i.e the status showed 'applied' till the last week. Then I received a mail from them (and this was after several mails from me asking if my file was complete) stating that they haven't received my degree transcripts. I had sent them all, and I guess they misplaced it of all probability. Anyhow, today I fedexed them again, a copy of my degree and transcripts. I have personally been very disappointed with their Admission office. If they are confirming an incomplete file now (when most schools are making offers) then I surely do not stand much of a chance of getting an offer from Cornell.

When I emailed them a few weeks ago, they said that the application tracking system would not be reliable this year due to an overflow of applications, and that they would contact me directly if anything was missing.

I know for a fact they recieved my LSAC transcripts and recommendations, but judging by your case, I guess I should call them ASAP !!

I am on the waiting list currently, and need to write to the right person to show my continues interest.
The general email account is looking after by the admin only.
Anyone can give me a hand? Many thanks!

@ Tota : I also applied a few days before the dead line and I have exactly the same problem. My status (on their online status checker) has not been changer since January and I'm still waiting for a answer... According to what I've read on their website (on the page you use to connect to you online status checker) it's normal, they just have too much applications to deal with ( they explain that they don't update the status checker and that we have to wait for an email).

Hey everyone, I have question:

The status of my application is the following:

Decision The Admissions Committee has reached decision on your application file and you will receive a written decision soon. Please be patient with the postal system. Please wait for 10 to 14 days to receive your written decision before contacting the Admissions Office.

Reading cornell law school web page, I saw this:

Admitted Student Discussion
Now that you have checked out the status of your application, please join other admitted students on the Admitted Student Discussion Site. (This link will take to back to the Status Check website. Please login and there will be a link to the Admitted Student Discussion Site.)

When I log into the Status Check Website, the Admitted Student Discussion Site Link doesn´t appear, do that mean that I was rejected or waitlisted?

I am waiting the 14 days since my status change (from complete to decision) to call the law school since I already know that i won´t receive soon the writting decision because the postal service in my country sucks.

I think Cornell's such doing is very strange.
No matter yes or no, or even waiting listed, they can send email immediately by samplized reply.
And for waiting listed or rejected applicants, it is even not necessary to send a physical mail through post system.
Does that mean I am admitted so I will have a physical mail to notify their decision?
Maybe I am over optimistic.
It seems not possible because of Cornell's small size of LL.M.
I hope so, but Cornell is still so cold.
If Cornell admit my wife and me at the same time, that is really a hard choice between Cornell and USC.
I like sunny LA, but Cornell at least T14 and famous in Taiwan.
For tuition, they are similar. For living expense, maybe Ithaca is less costing. But I like Hollywood, Universal Studio and Disney.
Of course, Berkeley is most wonderful, if they can reconsider my wife's application.
