Hi guys,
I have a question regarding admission standards.
I've read the following on CLS website: "Strong preference is given to applicants who have had at least one year of work experience after earning their first law degree."
I'm French, and I have a 18-month experience (2x6 months in law firms, 2 months in an association, 1 month in an arbitral court and 6 months in a legal clinic) posterior to my first law degree (3 years of law school in France). However, this 18-month experience was before I passed the bar and during the completion of my Master's degree (two years of law school in France). So do you think it could be seen as sufficient regarding CLS standards ?
Second question, do you know if - in the case where they're expecting an "association type position" - some people got admitted without having worked 1 or 2 year(s) as an associate in a law firm or an organization after passing the bar in their country / graduating ?
Thank you very much :)

I know that in our class there was someone admitted without an associate type of work experience. And 3 years ago, someone was offered admission who only had 5 months of work experience post law school. But this is the exception rather than the norm.

Thanks bluecrown, so even if these are exceptions, I can still hope to get an admission offer :)

I believe so. In our class, we had at least 2 LLMs who have not yet worked after obtaining their law degree. One of them is Canadian and the other one is French. :)

To those of you wondering if admission emails are still being sent, I received my admission last night (regular track).
Regarding fiancial aid, my email stated "Regrettably, due to our limited financial resources, we are unable to offer you financial assistance.", so I guess those of you who don't have this statement are under consideration for financial aid.
Good luck!

Congratulations to all admitted!
For those already admitted to more than one university: when do you expect to make a decision and decline / withdraw the other offers?

Depends when all scholarships/ fee waiver decisions be announced. Once I am able to see the whole picture in terms of all acceptance and financial decisions I will withdraw from all programs other than the one I choose. I thinks this is true to all those who were accepted to more than one program.

For those who are admitted and have paid the first deposit: have you received your account to the university housing website? I paid sometime in the later days of February but has not received the account information.
