Hi, this post is for everyone that applied to early review but was deferred to regular cycle.
Paticularly, I havnt receive a word since December. From other posts I remember GlasgowLaw and LLm 2010 are in the same position. Anyone else?
Given that I applied before and that they said that my file was gonna be reviewed with everyone else, it's kindda strange that others have been admitted or rejected or waitlisted and nothing for me. At this point, no news might be good news?

Hi, i'm exactly in the same situation... haven't heard anything since december.
It would be great to know if some of the deferred applicants have recieve admission/rejection.
Thanks!

that's too bad for you. i think that it's very uncertain that you get admitted, if you got deferred in early review cycle. I believe that they keep your file, till everybody else declines or accept the CLS offer.
I suggest, you get 1-3 years of work experience and re-apply or accept another offer when your deadlines expire.

Genral question: if a candidate is rejected this year (HLS/CLS/YLS), what are the chances next year? Do you have to do something spectacular?

i now people, who are applying for the same law schools every year. the eventually get admission after 3 or 4 times applying for the same law school. all of these people are or were working at magic circle law firms during their application period..

Hi,
Ye,still not heard a thing, and too scared of rejection to ask for call them and ask for a decision.
Argh.
I need to accept/reject Cornell by the 1st of April....have no funding though, so may defer.

too bad. Cornell is very neat University. Ithaca itself is extremly beautiful and they offer an excellent preparation for the NY bar exam. I would decide on April 1, if I were in your shoes. but think twice, before you withdraw your Cornell offer. Cornell is a top university!

How do u intend to pay for CLS if you go through? I do not think an deffered early applicant would be considered for financial aid.
Cornell is a good law school, u should not waste a year of your life just to make it into CLS.

as I understand, cls is looking for people with substantial work experience. you might have a chance, but it is certainly better, if you have two or three years experience in a magic circle law firm. if you're the academic type of person, then other law schools might fit better to you. e.g. chicago?
but be aware that ll.m admissions process is anyway a lottery...
wish you all the best and keep us informed, please!
