I just sent Dean Badger an E-Mail that I will definitely attend the LL.M. program 2007-2007 the University of Chicago. Somebody else already made up their minds? And if yes, where are you guys from ?

I am in. From Argentina. Redfox, when you say "us" do you mean that both you and your partner will be attending the LLM or that she/he is going with you to Chicago but will do something else?

Regents Park seems to please a lot of people. Half of the LL.M class is living there right now. The bus service at Regents is excellent. The nice think is a lot of people will sell their furniture so you won't have to spend tremendous amounts of money on furniture.

Living downtown is something I wouldn't do. You would have to come down to Hyde Park every with a car (15 min). But hey, if you want a view on one of the best skylines in the world, go ahead. It is way more expensive though...

Hi

I'm also considering to live in Regents Park during my LLM. It looks great but I am worried that the appartments might be too noisy if not well isolated. Anybody actually living there to reassure me on this point?

Have a nice day!

As far as I know, you will get the e-mail addresses of the people in the program. You can ask them then.

Hi guys,

I'm one of the LLM of class 2006-2007. First of all congratulations to those of you who have decided to come to Chicago. It is a great university and a better city to live in (despite the winter...).

I've seen that some of you have doubts as to where to live. My advice is to live in Hyde Park. Takes a few minutes to get to the university and can tell you that 1 extra hour sleep makes the difference (specially, if you take one of the 8:30 courses...). I think Regents is the best option. You will have other LLMs to hang out with, gym, pool, indoors supermarket and it is not noisy at all as it is not a dorm. Is an apartment building with people from outside the UoC living in as well.
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with lake views that I am going to miss next year..
Guess you will soon receive an email from Richard Badger with the contacts of all of us. In the mean time, drop me a pm if you have questions burning in your head (but give me some tme to respond as we are now starting exams...).

Btw, my name is Rodrigo and I'm from Spain

Cheers
