I just finished my first year of law school at a tier 3. After my second year I plan on applying to LLM programs. My long term goal is to work at a big/med firm in NYC. I don't think this is possible when I graduate from my current school. Will being in the top 20% allow me to be competitive for LLM programs at schools such as Fordham, NYU or Georgetown? Or does my rank have to be closer to 15% or better? Will getting an LLM from a top school significantly increase my chances of landing a firm job?
