BU USC GWU?? HELP!!

ingie

Hey everyone,

I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me out.

I have been admitted to the Banking and Financial Law LLM in BU, the Business and Financial Law LLM in GWU and the General LLM in USC.

Firstly, I would like to know which University has a stronger program in Banking/business/financial law...BU or GWU??

Secondly, I do eventually want to pass the NY bar exam as well as get some courses in banking and financial law...any ideas of which school would be best tailored to my needs?

If there's anything you can share with me, it would be much appreciated!!

Time has come to make a decision and I'm finding it quite hard and its a big one.

As far as I know, BU has a strong reputation on Banking law, although the other two schools you mention have higher rankings... tough call...

I am in the same fix between USC and GWU.

Location is one of the most important reason for my confusion!

How important is it to stay around NY if one wishes to give the NY bar? I am wondering whether it would be a little complicated to.. you know study in california and then move to NY for the bar and all. Plus the job market, is high in new york/dc. I am not really much informed about california.

What have you decided on?

I haven't really made up my mind yet but a part of me is leaning toward bu and usc more because gwu isn't really well known where I live (uae) and I believe the bu banking program is stronger than gwu. But apparently gwu alumni network is better than bu and usc is even better than gwu.
I am also weary about being in California when I want to do the ny bar.
What are your thoughts so far?

BU Banking is definitely better if you're interested in it. GWU is good in IPR and International Law. Usc in Media and Business Law.

I am thinking about the same thing, about being in California when I want to do the NY Bar. You know, Studying in Cali for a year and then going to NY/DC without any network or contacts.

Unable to make a decision but i need to in another 5 days. I am gonna speak to a few current/ex students

Lets see :)

Well keep me posted! I will also be making a decision in the next week.
But they're all great schools so I don't think we can go wrong either way

I heard that BU is good in banking. To my knowledge, GW's strengths are in IP and international law, but there could be more.

I have the same problem here!
I have been admitted in BU American law with concentration in corporate law and GW in Business and Finance Law
Which one should I choose ?
It seems like GW has more internships opportunitiesbut I would like to pass the NY bar exam and eventually pass the Paris Bar exam. In a word, I'm lostHELP!

I have the same problem: GW or USC. The scope of my interest is business law, investment law. Additionally, I am planning to have internships in a international corporation and a state organ. I need to make a final decision within 1 weak. What did you choose and why?
