Hi everyone, hope this finds you all well (and successful).
I've just recently graduated with an LL.B. (Hons.) from a UK university. However, it's only a Lower Second (2.2). I am commencing my Bar Professional Training Course this September. As it is, I am worried about my chances for ever starting a career in commercial law, specifically in intellectual property, IT, or media (it is a dream, yes) due to my average results. I am thinking of pursuing an LL.M. in NY and then going on to do the NY bar. I understand that the LL.M. can in no way compare to the JS.D. but I thought it would be a step up from doing the NY bar with a bare teaspoonful of American law knowledge (yes, I am aware that I can actually do the NY bar without the LL.M.).
I have dreams of doing international commercial law and I wonder if I am going the right direction? Would pursuing both be beneficial to me career-wise in any way?
Appreciate any contributing thoughts, my gratitude in advance.

I know these questions get asked a lot, but they are important: why do you want to take the New York bar? Do you want to work in New York, or do you want to use it as a leg up in the UK?
Also, what is your background with IP? Do you have any sort of science background or did you take a lot of IP classes at university?
