Hi
Being selected for a Fulbright Scholarship, I am preparing my TOEFL in order to apply for LLM in Banking and Financial Law in a law school in the US. I plan to submit my app. to 6 US law schools (ex: Fordham, Boston...).
I would like you all to help me assess my chance to be admitted in any of 6 law schools. Below is my background information to help your assessment:
+ My strength:
- My first LLB (in my own country) GPA=3.6.
- My professional experience: I have been working as a legal adviser at an international law firm located in my country since 2006, mostly in banking and financial areas.
- My international experience (travel, study, cultural exchange).
- My personal statement.
+ My weakness:
- My second LLB (in France) equivalent GPA=2.0.
- My English proficiency : last pBT TOEFL: 580 (i will take an iBT TOEFL next week - a lot of pressure to get at least 100=600 of pBT to reach the requirement!).
Please tell if i have any chance to get admitted.
Thanks for your help and kindness.

I think you should name the Universities and the law firms you have been in jus so that we could get it a lil more straight.
That said, I should warn you that the new Toefl iBT is way much harder than the PBT. If by misfortune you get under the 100 threshold don't hesitate to send your application anyway by indicating new test dates in it ( if you decided of course to take it after).
Concerning LL.Ms in Banking and Financial law, you talked about Fordham & Boston U. I don't personaly think you will struggle to get in those one even if your 2nd LL.B GPA is a lil bit under what is generally required by US top law schools.
Jus' get good letters of rec', get your personal statement revised by experts, insert some complementary selected documentation and don't forget to send tha whole completed thing in a reasonable notice.
I think it should work.
Hoping you tha best.

Hi all,
I just received my iBT-TOEFL score: i got 102 reaching the requirements of Boston and Fordham Law Schools to which i have applied for an LLM in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law. I hope that my chance is big enough to get admitted in one of those schools. Any comment from you would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Congrats on your admissions in Boston and Fordham.
You may also have a good chance in Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Washington University, all within TOP 20.
