Anoyone going to American University, D.C this summer for an LLM?

Been offered a place and thinking about it. I am an English lawyer with about 8 years of commercial/finance practice looking to make a move into international organisations like the UN, IMF and thinking a year of study and contact making might be worth doing. What is your background if you don't mind me asking?

I applied pretty late to the ILSP program at AU (WCL). For those admitted, could you kindly share how long it took for you to get your decisions? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

They admit everyone and even if you apply late, you will see... and if you go there with a good command in English and with background (more than 1-2 years) you will find out that you are surrounded by 23-year-olds (not always so proficient in English) who gossip around just like in high school. The program is not bad. Honestly: if you are looking to go back to your country it will be worth it I guess, but if you are planning to do the BAR and stay - I do not recommend it. I don't recommend ANY LLM if you are a foreigner looking to stay. There is a clear tendency for law firms not to even consider foreign attorneys, especially now. Also American University's program is very much Human Rights oriented and you will struggle with the business classes... Its price is also artificially high - as much as GW and Georgetown.
So these are my thoughts and believe me, they are based on personal observations.
